How is password strength calculated?
We use Information Entropy (pioneered by Claude Shannon) to measure unpredictability in bits. It's calculated as L * log2(R), where L is length and R is the character pool size.
Following NIST standards, we categorize strength:• < 36 bits: Weak• 60-120 bits: Good• 128+ bits: Excellent
